Belmark Family,

Back in March 2020 when the pandemic first hit, Belmark decided to eliminate the cap on vacation rollover.  This policy change was in response to the pandemic, and was not a permanent change.  While we cannot predict how 2021 will look, we wanted to give advance notice that we will be adjusting our vacation policy.  We are announcing these changes early to provide everyone enough time to plan how to use, or elect pay out, of their time, as we understand each individual values their time differently.

Updated Vacation Pay Out Options & Elimination of Unlimited Rollover

  • Unlimited vacation rollover will expire on March 23rd, 2022.
  • Our current policy of 1 week payout remains in effect from March 23rd, 2020 – March 22nd, 2021.
  • Our new policy of up to 2 weeks pay out will begin for anniversaries between March 23rd, 2021 through March 22nd, 2022.
  • Effective March 23rd, 2022 we will revert to pre-COVID19 policy and allow up to 1 week rollover, with no pay out options.
Time Frame Rollover Payout
03/23/2020 – 03/22/2021 Unlimited 1 Week Max
03/23/2021 – 03/22/2022 Unlimited 2 Week Max
Effective 3/23/2022 1 Week Max None

Requirements

  • Payout and rollover is tied to anniversary date; requests for payout need to be made at anniversary date.
  • Payout must be taken in weekly increments (1 or 2 weeks).
  • Payout is of accrued time only.
  • Payout must be requested through your manager, who will then submit to Payroll.
  • If electing to use up time, note that you must use your time within your accrual year. Booked time is not used time and anything above the 1 week max rollover will be lost on your anniversary following March 23rd, 2022.

Again, with advance notice we hope that you can make decisions regarding your time that fit you and your family best.  We understand some of this information may be confusing and each situation is unique; if you have questions please discuss with your manager or a member of the Task Force.

Be safe, take care.
